Independent Living Support Services
The Independent Living Support Services program provides a range of integrated services to help people secure housing, build a support network and develop the self-confidence to achieve their personal goals. Key services include:
- Adult Rehabilitation Mental Health Services - provides individual visits and class settings to build rehabilitative skills, including coping skills, household management, employment, interpersonal communication, the use of public transportation and other key life skills.
- Housing support - assists clients in finding and maintaining affordable housing in their community through the use of subsidies and support services.
- ARMHS/case management - integrates services to help clients develop and practice social and independent living skills. Staff meet with clients on a weekly basis to help them identify and access key community resources.
- Peer support services - specialized assistance provided by a person in recovery from a mental illness, substance use or co-occurring disorder. These individuals utilize their personal experiences to help clients identify their own strengths and how these can be used to achieve their own recovery goals.
Services are available to adults diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness or serious mental illness, are 18 or older and live in Olmsted county.
