We all experience stress at our jobs, and it has been noticed more recently with all the changes that the pandemic has created in our careers. Some of the jobs that have been publicized the most in the news and on social media are healthcare workers, teachers, and small business owners. These jobs have experienced huge changes, but we know that every job in the world was affected in some way.

We see and hear the struggles that work puts on people and want to make it easier for you to maintain your mental health at work and adapt to the new norm. Here is a list of ways that you can do this before work or even while you are at work.

Deep Breathing

Take a moment during the day to slow down and take a few deep breaths. Deep breathing sends signals to your brain to calm down and relax. It also reduces stress and anxiety when you practice it daily.

Eating Breakfast/Snacks

Eating a good breakfast before work will help with your mental clarity throughout the rest of the day. Keeping snacks near you for when you get hungry, or your body is low on sugar will boost your mood and keep you more efficient.

Take a Walk

Walking helps reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Finding a few minutes out of your day to go for a walk will improve your mood and self-esteem.

Color

Yes, adults can color too. Coloring puts your mind into a similar state as meditating. It reduces thoughts of a restless mind and promotes mindfulness and calmness.

Learn Something New

Learning a new skill will help you gain courage and confidence, which will then decrease your feelings of fear and anxiety. Find time before or after work, or even on your break time to learn about something new and feel more empowered.
