Brittney Berge, MSW, LGSW

I became a mental health professional because I wanted to provide support to those who need a safe space. I have a strong passion for working with at-risk youth who need support to process the situations they have and continue to experience. Being able to provide support as they navigate and overcome challenges is a heartwarming thing to watch.

I enjoy connecting with clients and creating strong working relationships. It is incredible to watch the therapeutic relationship and trust grow between client and staff to create a strong foundation for growth. Building a strong foundation helps guide the client’s experience and creates a productive and supportive environment for them to begin addressing their needs and growing their skills.

My approach to treating clients is focusing on a relationship-based approach and reminding clients that they are the experts of their own experiences. When I am treating specific areas of concern, I work towards managing emotions through appropriate coping skills, learning to notice emotions around the situation, and validating their experience to ensure that the client is feeling heard throughout the process of learning to manage the feelings and/or behaviors they are experiencing.
