About
Lumi is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works from the belief that inclusion makes the world better—not just for marginalized people, but for everyone. She brings that philosophy into every session she facilitates, creating a space where clients can show up as their full selves without fear of judgment or needing to mask. This also means cultivating an environment where all ways of thinking, communicating, and existing are met with respect, curiosity, and compassion.
Lumi’s clinical background includes experience in school-based services, community mental health, and outpatient therapy with individuals and families. She integrates approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Autism Centered Therapy (AuCT), and strengths-based, trauma-informed care.
She has additional training in supporting neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients and especially enjoys working with teens and young adults exploring identity, communication, and self-acceptance.
Lumi specializes in working with autistic and ADHD clients, individuals navigating burnout, and those recovering from chronic invalidation or complex trauma. She also works closely with families to improve understanding and connection—particularly when neurodivergence is part of the dynamic.
In session, Lumi brings a warm, grounded presence. She is collaborative and down-to-earth, showing up authentically to build trust and mutual respect. Her style is honest, compassionate, and real. She is not a blank slate—she shows up in the room as a human first. Clients often describe her as validating, approachable, and someone who helps them feel truly seen. She believes therapy works best when clients feel safe enough to be their full selves, and she works hard to build that kind of relationship.
Outside the therapy room, Lumi enjoys spending time with her dog, creating art, reading too many books at once, and listening to folk punk while running plenty of miles. She is deeply committed to disability justice and mutual aid as forms of community healing.
